I’m always on the hunt for dark gothic jewelry that functions as both unique statement pieces that represent things I love and small works of art I can carry with me every day. I’ve become quite the jewelry connoisseur over the last few years in my hunt to collect as many beautiful pieces as I can, and I thought I would put together a quick guide of my favorite shops that I regularly purchase from. I have purchased multiple items from all of these shops and wear them pretty frequently, so I can definitely say that these are all reputable brands that offer high-quality products that help me express my most authentic self. I’m so excited to share them with you here!
Petals & Poison
Petals & Poison is a small business that sells the most luxurious “heirlooms for the modern Victorian.” These heirlooms include everything from porcelain tea sets to ruffled dresses, and of course, intricately designed jewelry.
I have several rings and necklaces from Petals & Poison, and the level of detail and quality of every piece is truly astounding. Everything was designed with so much care and I absolutely adore the imagery that the owner Jená takes inspiration from, like disembodied eyes, elegant roses, Tim Burton-esque pumpkins, and haunted gothic archways.
I’ve been an avid champion of Petals & Poison for years, and I’m so thankful to finally be one of their official affiliates. If you place an order from their shop, use my code MISSLYS15 for an extra 15% off your order!
Arcana Obscura
I first discovered Arcana Obscura’s beautiful pieces during my first visit to Salem. I was browsing one of the shops looking for a memento to commemorate our trip, and I was immediately drawn to a necklace featuring the urn and willow design I had seen on the tombstones in the Salem cemetery the day before. It was a perfect memento and an absolutely stunning piece. After I purchased the necklace and learned who made it, I went on their site and immediately created a wishlist of more pieces I wanted.
Kate Hockstein, the artist behind Arcana Obscura, hand makes all of their pieces using ethically sourced materials. The designs are gorgeous and take inspiration from plants, creatures, and New England iconography. After purchasing my first necklace in Salem I have already accumulated two more pieces, and I cannot wait to collect more.
Equinox Art
Equinox Art is owned by artisan Camille who is on a mission to “satisfy the alternative souls who are looking for the perfect piece of jewelry.” She regularly releases elegant gothic collections inspired by classic dark aesthetics like dark fantasy, gothic architecture, or pop culture icons like Dracula and Nosferatu. If you love intricate details, layers, and textures, you will absolutely love these pieces.
RegalRose
RegalRose is a UK-based jewelry company that specializes in dark and dreamy designs. Their seasonal collections draw inspiration from a wide array of themes like deadly sirens, gothic architecture, dark art deco, and more. The thing I love the most about RegalRose is their ability to maintain a cohesive aesthetic across a wide variety of styles and collections, which makes it easy to mix and match and layer all their pieces if you like that look.
Little Rooms
Little Rooms has the most whimsical aesthetic out of every shop on this list, but they absolutely have so much to offer those that prefer dark aesthetics, like necklaces inspired by Victorian hand iconography or rings with skulls and spider webs. The thing that really got me hooked on Little Rooms though is their charms. They sell dozens of chains and separate charms, which allows you to mix and match to create the custom combinations of your dreams. You can add multiple charms to a single chain or wear a single charm as a pendant. Like RegalRose, their style is so strong and cohesive that their necklaces, rings, and bracelets still look so good even if you mix or stack them.
